MEDIA: Instrumental Suite - or - Produced Tracks - or Combination - possibly w/projected images


MOVEMENTS:

Purple (Saagar) - Grand, royal. Moderate tempo ("maestoso")

Green (Keegan) - Ska, Caribbean. Explore fusion with art music artifacts. Moderate to up tempo.

Orange (Sarah) - Exotic. Explore scale(s) and ostinato rhythms that may suggest exoticism. Andante? Algerian Scale

True Blue (Will) - Jazzy, minimalist. How might music production tools play a part? MM 80-90?

Yellow (Michael) - Flash, bright light! What musical devices can convey this? Bright, fast tempo.

Dark Red (Mitch) - Dormant volcano; possible eruption? Tempo?

Pink (Jacob) - Impressionist, "fluffy." This color may evolve into RED or other shades? Slow/moderate tempo.

Coral (Marissa) - a choral movement for small SATB ensemble. Tempo?


PERFORMERS: Dr. W is available to conduct for a nominal fee ;-)

WINDS: Oboe/English Horn (Sarah L), Clarinet (Chris Cl), Alto Sax (Unique D), Trombone (Will W, Drew C)

STRINGS: Violin (Michael W, Haley S), Violia (Saagar A), Cello (Hannah S), String Bass (Keegan D)

RHYTHM, ETC: Piano (Jacob W), Guitars (Mitch K, Keegan D, Hunter H, Nick C)

VOCAL: Sarah L and Kenzie K (Soprano), Marissa C and Victoria B (Alto), Jacob S an AJ G (Tenor/Bar.), Will/Jake W (Bass)

PERCUSSION: Several students (guitar players, etc.) will be available to perform "atmospheric" percussion if desired: Suspended Cymbal, Triangle, Conga Drum, etc.


COMPOSITIONAL DEVICES: Consider how you will use things we've studied this year to convey your the program (the "storyline") for your color.

Examples: Pedal Point, ostinbato rhythm ("groove"), Form (A-B; A-BA, A-B-A, intro, closing material, rondo/ritornello, sonata allegro, etc.), partner song, climax at fibonacci series "golden mean," textural layering, etc.
